We are Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County (HFHJC). On November 1, 2013 the Buffalo Chapter of Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns became its own affiliate; Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County. We are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) and as such we support their views and follow their guidelines. We are a Christian Organization but do not proselytize or discriminate on basis of faith, race, religion, or sex. Our service area is Johnson County and we have completed 8 houses so far in Buffalo. Currently we are in the finishing stages of House #9 and will be pouring the slab for House #10 in the spring of 2014. Applications are taken for potential homeowners and the recipients are selected by a Family Selection Committee. There are certain financial guidelines that must be met in order to be eligible to own a Habitat house, and if chosen, sweat equity hours are a required investment into the house, in order to receive an interest free mortgage.

GOOD NEWS: Habitat is currently taking applications for a home.

Volunteering; Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County is run totally by volunteers and there are many opportunities for you to help. Habitat Place; our store in Buffalo sells antiques, collectibles, books, furniture, and some appliances & building supplies. These items are all donated to us by our community in Buffalo and Johnson County.

Donations; without the generous contributions from the community, we could not complete our goal of building affordable housing in Johnson County.

Garage Sale; our annual Garage Sale is a weekend-long event that fills 3 whole buildings at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Equal Housing Opportunity Statement: We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
