What is Habitat Place? Habitat Place is our store at 310 Williams St, Buffalo that sells antiques, collectibles, books, furniture, and some appliances & building supplies. These items are all donated to us by the community of Buffalo and Kaycee, in Johnson County.

We also accept clothing and other items at our discretion, which we feel may sell at the annual Garage Sale held in May. A group of volunteers sort and box these items and store them until the sale. The money made from these items is what helps us to continue building houses in Johnson County.

Habitat Place Hours are:
Thursdays: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Fridays: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Saturdays: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Habitat Place has unique items to enhance any home:
       Vintage collectibles
       Jewelry and much more

It also has many home essentials:
       Appliances both large and small

All items are priced to sell. Most important, all profits from sales and cash dona-tions go back into building supplies for upcoming Habitat projects. Habitat Place accepts a wide variety of donated items which can be dropped off during store hours.

If you have items to donate at a time that differs from these hours, please contact Ken Ott at 307-684-5220.

Habitat Place volunteers have many skills and talents from assisting with purchases to sorting and preparing donations to be sold. In addition to in-store sales, Habitat has an annual garage sale in May at the JC Fairgrounds, a coat and winter wear sale in October and a sale of Christmas merchandise in November. Volunteers set up each sale, work as cashiers, assist customers and clean up after each sale.

“Buy so we can Build” is the slogan for the Annual Habitat for Humanity Garage Sale; a weekend-long event that fills 4 whole buildings at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. All proceeds from the garage sale go to help build affordable housing for families in Johnson County. The event begins on a Thursday evening May 18th with a pre-sale opportunity from 5-8 pm. For small donation of $10/family gives you the opportunity to shop prior to the sale being opened to the public., people are allowed to come in and buy before the official start of the event on Friday.

It continues Friday 19th 9am to 7pm and Saturday 20th from 9am to 5pm with more new items put out each day and Sunday 21st from noon to 4pm when everything sells for half the original price.

Donations are accepted throughout the year for sale at the Habitat Store and the garage sale.
